Add a splash of water and the oil turns milky, so it rinses off without leaving a slick layer behind. Skin is left feeling fresh and soft rather than tight. It suits normal, oily and combination skin, and anyone who wears long-wear makeup or sunscreen every day and wants a thorough but comfortable first cleanse.

Apply 2–3 pumps to dry hands and massage gently over a dry face. Add a little water and keep massaging for about 30 seconds until the oil turns milky.

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then follow with a water-based cleanser. Use in the evening, or whenever you have worn makeup or sunscreen.

• Spend an extra minute massaging over the nose and chin. Giving the oil time to work on sebum is what makes the pore step count.
• Keep hands and face dry until the emulsifying step, as water added too early weakens the cleanse.
