A step-up night cream for skin that already tolerates retinol. Built around Retinol (0.3%), it targets the look of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture, and is designed as the next stage for experienced users moving on from a lower strength such as 0.1%.

Adenosine supports the look of firmer, more elastic skin, while Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate and Tocotrienols, three forms of vitamin E, add antioxidant care. The soft cream base pairs Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate with Panthenol and Allantoin to keep skin hydrated and comfortable as it adjusts to a higher strength. Use it as a targeted evening treatment on the areas where lines tend to show first: smile lines, the forehead and the neck.

Use in the evening only. After cleansing, toner and serum, apply a pea-sized amount to areas of concern, such as smile lines, the forehead and the neck, and massage gently until absorbed. Keep away from the eyelids, the lash line and the lips.

Start two or three nights a week, then increase frequency as your skin tolerates it. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning while using retinol.

• Moving up from 0.1%? For the first few weeks, try the sandwich method: a thin layer of plain moisturizer, then this cream, then another layer of moisturizer.
• Skip exfoliating acids, scrubs and vitamin C serums on your retinol nights to help keep irritation down.
