Houttuynia Cordata (Heartleaf) Extract sits alongside a blend of plant oils, and the formula is particularly useful around the nose and chin where sunscreen and sebum tend to collect. Use it alone in the evening or follow with a water-based cleanser for a full double cleanse.

Dispense two to three pumps into dry hands and massage gently over a dry face. Add a small amount of water and keep massaging until the oil turns completely milky, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Follow with a water-based cleanser if you want a full double cleanse. If you wear contact lenses, remove them first and take off eye makeup with a dedicated remover.

• The emulsifying step is the one people skip. Add water gradually and keep massaging until the oil is fully milky before you rinse — that is what prevents an oily film and the congestion that follows it.
• Spend a little extra time on the nose and chin, but keep the pressure light. Prolonged or forceful rubbing does more harm than a longer, gentler massage.
